Oct 4 Fri 7:00 pm Stop the Violence -- Stop the Hate! Anti--Violence March. Broadway & Melrose. Join Queer Nation & other community groups as we march to call attention to the violence that the queer community faces on a daily basis. Speakers will address the topics of anti-queer violence, police misconduct, domestic violence, racist violence and sexist violence. Saturday Oct 11: A panel of local alternative media workers. What are the directions that left / progressive media take or could take to reach more people -- or fewer people in more local ways? -- and be more effective in public debate? Sunday Oct 12: Debriefing and synthesis -- what lessons will we take away from this meeting? The traditional organizational self-criticism session.
